What the tracker keeps for each holding

Built for the person who holds a few accounts at different places and wants one honest picture next to their budget and debts.

  1. 01

    Portfolios in their own currency

Create a portfolio per account or per goal, for example a retirement account, a brokerage account and a crypto wallet. Each one keeps its own currency.

  2. 02

    Holdings

Symbol, name, type, quantity, buy price, purchase date and the purchase fee. Every buy and sale is kept in the holding’s transaction history.

  3. 03

    Prices from Stooq

US stocks and ETFs by plain ticker (AAPL is looked up as aapl.us); other listings with their Stooq exchange suffix, such as .DE; 20 common coins, including BTC, ETH and SOL, as pairs to USD. After a refresh Finman tells you how many prices updated and how many were unavailable.

  4. 04

    Gain that counts your costs

Profit is current value minus cost minus fees. Net profit adds the dividends you log and subtracts extra fees or taxes. A split can be logged for the record.

  5. 05

    Sales

Sell part or all of a holding with the sale price and fee; the quantity and the history update.

  6. 06

    Allocation

Each portfolio shows its split by asset type and by individual holding, so a position that has grown too large stands out.

  7. 07

    FIRE projection

Enter a monthly contribution, an expected yearly return and a target; Finman calculates how many years and months the portfolio needs, with monthly compounding, over a horizon of up to 100 years.

  8. 08

    Part of your net worth

Every portfolio counts in the net worth tracker at quantity × latest price, converted to your base currency.

From a list of holdings to a target date

You enter what you hold; Finman fetches the prices and does the arithmetic. Your brokerage login is never needed, because nothing connects to the brokerage.

Where Finman fits, and where a specialist fits better

  1. 01

    Holdings are entered by hand

Finman keeps no connection to brokerages or exchanges, so you add trades yourself and no brokerage password is shared.

  2. 02

Prices refresh when you press the button

Until a symbol gets a quote, its value uses the buy price.

  3. 03

    Gain is a simple figure

Value minus cost and fees, plus dividends, in money and percent. For time-weighted returns, tax lots or benchmark comparison, a specialist tool fits better; best investment tracking apps compares them.

  4. 04

Investments sit next to everything else

Budgets, debts, savings goals and the balance forecast live in the same app, and the AI CFO chat answers from all of it.

Investment tracker questions

Weighing a free dashboard? Read Finman vs Empower.

What is the best app to track all my investments in one place?
It depends on what you need next to the portfolio. Finman fits if you want investments beside your budget, debts and net worth in one free app. For dividend tax reports or time-weighted returns, a specialist such as Sharesight fits better. Our comparison of the best investment tracking apps covers six options.
Is Finman’s investment tracker free?
Yes, during the open beta every feature is free and no card is asked for. After the beta the paid plans are Pro at $9 and Family at $19 a month; payments are not switched on yet.
Does it connect to my brokerage?
Holdings are added by hand: symbol, quantity, buy price, date and fee. Prices then come from free Stooq quotes, so you never share a brokerage login with Finman.
Can I track crypto with it?
Yes. Crypto is one of the asset types, and 20 common coins, including BTC, ETH and SOL, are priced as pairs to USD from Stooq. Crypto held outside a portfolio can also be added to net worth as a manual asset.
Is there an investment tracking app for iPhone?
Finman runs in Safari on iPhone and installs to the home screen like an app, with the same data as on Android and desktop. App Store and Google Play versions are not published yet.
Does it include dividends and fees?
Yes. Purchase and sale fees are subtracted from profit, logged dividends are added, and extra fees or taxes logged as events are subtracted, so the net profit figure reflects what you actually kept.
How does the FIRE projection work?
You enter a monthly contribution, an expected yearly return and a target. Finman grows the current portfolio value month by month at that return, adds the contribution each month and reports how many years and months it takes to reach the target, up to 100 years.
